Vicki is a Partner and Joint Head of Team for our Private Client Team and Head of our Care Funding and Court of Protection Team . She is based in Northampton. She is able to bring her expertise and obvious overlaps into both areas of work to complement each other.
Vicki qualified as a Solicitor in 2004 and has extensive experience, specialising in the administration of estates, drafting Wills and helps her clients plan for inheritance tax and protect assets within their Wills and Property Trusts. Vicki has a passion for working with people and families suffering from a mental incapacity.
She was instrumental in setting up the specialist care funding and Court of Protection team in 2013 which has more than doubled in size since its inception. Vicki was appointed on the panel of professional deputies by the Court of Protection in 2015 and through this position has gained vast experience in dealing with difficult and challenging family circumstances and relationships; misappropriation; conflict, housing issues, safeguarding; disputes and contentious challenges and often draws on the wider expertise of the firm to resolve these matters on behalf of her clients. The Court regularly appoints Vicki as a person’s deputy when they do not have a suitable person close to them to act on their behalf in relation to the administration of all their financial Property and Affairs. Vicki was appointed on the panel of Guardians following the introduction of the Guardianship (Missing Persons) Act 2017 allowing her to manage the affairs of people classed as missing.
Vicki appreciates how important it is to obtain a good background to her clients’ circumstances, to know their wishes in order to ensure they will be followed and always strives to exceed the level expected by the regulatory body standards. Vicki is very thorough and likes to ensure that her clients fully understand how their affairs will be dealt with and the process that needs to be followed in all areas that she practices in.
She regularly advises clients of all ages and abilities on Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection applications and often visits clients in a variety of care settings and at home. Vicki believes that it is important to build up a strong relationship with her clients and their families/carers to help them through difficult circumstances and transitional times if moving into care. Vicki is able to look holistically at a client’s circumstances and the impact it can have on other family members. Vicki is keen to find solutions to the challenges that her clients face in order to make a positive difference. She is also able to advise clients on all aspects of care home funding and challenges, including NHS continuing healthcare applications/challenges and local authority funding disputes.
Vicki is also a member of the Professional Deputies Forum, COPPA, Solicitors for the Elderly and the Northamptonshire Dementia Action Alliance and works closely with charities such as Cancer Research UK. She is also a Trustee for Northamptonshire MIND. She is considered by her clients as both caring and knowledgeable. She also enjoys appearing on the expert hour at BBC Radio Northampton.

May I again offer my sincere thanks for all your hard work. It would have been impossible for me or any relative to have dealt with my brothers' probate ourselves, and throughout, Wilson Browne have done their utmost to reduce for the stress for what has been a very distressing time. Thank you.

I wanted to write and thank you for all your help and advice over the last months in settling the Trust and the sale of the house. For the first time in almost a year I managed to see my mother inside the care home, she is very happy there and although I’ve always managed to see her in the car park or the garden of the home every week it was nice to be in the same room and chat and laugh. The staff there are wonderful, the last year would have been far more difficult and scary for her had she remained in her home. Everything is now sorted and I am immensely grateful you were there throughout the process.

I am very satisfied with the services provided by your company and especially Vicki Pearce. I had known her through previous dealings when I was an Executor and needed her help, so I chose her for dealing with my own affairs. Ms Pearce is very knowledgeable in her field whilst able to make me understand these rather complicated matters in plain terms. She is very supportive and friendly and so are her staff so I would recommend her and your company to anybody.
