Learning Disability Week 2025: “Do You See Me?”
Reasons to choose Wilson Browne
This year, from Monday 16th to Friday 21st June, it is Learning Disability Week 2025, a time to celebrate, reflect, and advocate for the people with learning disabilities.
This year’s theme is “Do You See Me?”, this theme raises awareness about being seen, heard, and valued.
The Role of the Court of Protection
Here at Wilson Browne Solicitors, the Court of Protection team are proud to stand behind the principles of this week. We ensure that every individual is seen, heard, and valued despite the fact they may lack the capacity to make certain decisions for themselves.
We are committed to:
- Making decisions in the best interests of individuals who lack capacity.
- Listening to their wishes, past and present, feelings, beliefs, values, and ensuring these are central to every decision.
- Protecting their rights while promoting their independence, wellbeing and quality of life.
- Working collaboratively with families, carers, and professionals to ensure the right support is in place.
- Ensuring they thrive with our support.
Helping People Thrive
We help create the conditions where people with learning disabilities can thrive, ensuring they have access to the right care and support. Whether it’s where someone lives, the care they receive, or how their finances are managed, we strive to ensure that every decision reflects their unique identity and promotes their quality of life.
Learning Disability Week is a reminder that inclusion is everyone’s responsibility. Including families, carers, social workers and all professions. Our Court of Protection experts continue to ensure that people with learning disabilities are seen, heard and valued.
