Legal Content Creator (Part-Time)- Kettering

Are you a creative wordsmith with a flair for simplifying complex ideas, coupled with a passion for law? If so, Wilson Browne Solicitors is looking for YOU to join our award-winning Marketing Team as a Legal Content Creator.

This is a part time position of approx. 18 hours a week with a working pattern flexible to suit the candidate e.g. 2.5 full days or 4/5 short days. The role is based in Kettering, but occasional travel to our offices will be required and working from home can be considered after probation.

Tell me more about the role….

As our Legal Content Creator, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s content strategy to support its extensive web presence. You’ll craft clear, engaging, and legally compliant content that resonates with a variety of audiences. Whether it’s blog posts, website copy, guides, case studies, or marketing materials, your work will help communicate our expertise in both private client and commercial services (“For You” and “For Business”).

You will:

  • Simplify the complex: Translate legal concepts into accessible, engaging content.
  • Stay ahead of the game: Monitor legal developments and external influences (like “the budget”) to produce timely and relevant content.
  • Collaborate & create: Work closely with our Heads of Team, Partners, Solicitors, and Marketing team to align content with broader campaigns.
  • Embrace creativity: Use your flair for storytelling to craft compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.

What We’re Looking For

  • Has a legal background or extensive knowledge of legal services.
  • Possesses exceptional writing skills with a strong grasp of grammar, style, and has the creative flair and ability to craft engaging content.
  • Is skilled in research to ensure content is accurate and credible.
  • Has a basic understanding of SEO (training can be provided).
  • Is proactive, curious, and eager to stay informed about legal trends.

Responsibilities…

  • Knowledge and understanding of complex legal information, translating it into accessible content that serves the intended audience.
  • Research, writing, and collaboration: researching new legal developments, drafting blog post/social media posts to explain it to a general audience.
  • Collaborating with Heads of Team/Partners/Associates/Solicitors to ensure accuracy, and with the Marketing Team to align the content with broader campaign goals.
  • To be “on top of” legal developments or external influences such as “the budget” and ensure we have informative and swift responses to convey to our wide audience.
  • A basic understanding of SEO is desired, although training/coaching can be given if needed.
  • Legal Knowledge: A strong grasp of the broad range of our legal offerings and an understanding of legal concepts and terminology is essential. This may require a degree in law or significant experience working in the legal field.
  • Writing Expertise: Exceptional writing skills, including grammar, punctuation, and style, are essential.
  • Research Proficiency: The ability to conduct thorough legal research to ensure the accuracy and credibility of the content.

Private Client Legal Secretary (Full-Time or Part-Time)- Kettering

A Legal Secretary is required to support the Private Client team at our Kettering office. The work will involve support for a busy and dynamic team making Wills, lasting powers of attorney (LPA’s) and administering estates.

Our Legal 500 recognised Private Client team are based in 6 offices across Northamptonshire and Leicester and benefit from the expertise of 3 Partners.
The ideal candidate will be accurate, have the ability to work as part of a team and be able to remain calm under pressure.

Responsibilities
This is a full and busy role and will include the following:

• dealing with enquiries from clients;
• making appointments; preparing precedent letters;
• completion of Will and Lasting Powers of Attorney matters;
• drafting documents;
• opening files;
• task specific jobs, including making phone calls;
• filing paperwork and electronic applications;
• secretarial support using digital dictation or by other direction.

Requirements
You will provide full support, maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and presentation to ensure a first-class service is provided to our clients.
Although previous experience in these areas of work would be desirable, other suitable candidates will be considered as full training will be given.

We are looking for a team player with excellent client care skills, an abundance of common sense and empathy for elderly, vulnerable and bereaved clients. A strong team ethic, attention to detail and a passion for working with others is essential!

ICT Assistant- Northampton

We are looking for an ICT Helpdesk Assistant to join our ICT team in Grange Park, Northampton on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is pivotal to our success and ongoing growth plans and is ideal for someone with a background in IT and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level technical support to our staff members, both remotely and on-site across our 6 offices in Northampton, Kettering, Corby, Higham Ferrers, Wellingborough and Leicester.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware and software.
  • Set up, configure, repair and install hardware, software, and other related equipment.
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and solutions.
  • Provide technical support for staff members with IT-related issues.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for system and process improvements.
  • Assist the ICT Systems Trainer in the creation of training materials including presentations, tutorials, videos, and hands-on exercises.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends and technologies.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a helpdesk or technical support role supporting Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Windows Active Directory and Office 365 would be preferred.
  • Familiarity with IT hardware and software.
  • Able to demonstrate troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Good organisation skills.
  • Proficiency in supporting Office 365 applications (User, Groups, Azure AD, and MFA) would be preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A valid driving license and access to a vehicle, as there will be a need to travel to our other sites in Northamptonshire and Leicester when required

Legal and Finance Assistant (Court of Protection)- Northampton

The Court of Protection team make applications to Court for authority to help vulnerable or mentally incapable people manage their financial affairs in the community and in care homes and hospital settings.

A full-time Legal and Finance Assistant is required to join this busy and interesting team at Northampton with a diverse client base. Working as part of the team, you will help with essential case management for these clients to help manage their financial affairs.

Responsibilities…

This is a full and busy role and will include the following:

  • Supporting the team in all accounting roles, specifically the reconciliation of client’s bank accounts.
  • Carrying out essential case management support to the Court of Protection team.
  • Assisting the other team members in managing their case load on a task-by-task basis.
  • Making payments through online banking; reconciling bank statements; monitoring deputyship bank accounts and dealing with financial institutions.
  • Preparing files for detailed cost assessment and e-filing with The Senior Court Costs Office.
  • Raising and paying invoices.
  • Taking and dealing with enquiries from clients and their family and care staff.
  • General administration tasks to include filing; photocopying; scanning, archiving files and making appointments for the team’s lawyers.

Please note that due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will need to pass a DBS check and an advanced credit check as part of our recruitment process.

Requirements

You will be well organised and possess a good aptitude for finances, banking and basic accounting.

You will be trustworthy, caring, patient, and understanding and possess an enthusiasm for work within the Court of Protection and Private client area of the law, working with vulnerable and elderly people and their families.

Previous Court of Protection exposure is preferred and some experience in dealing with finances is required. You must also be confident to use your initiative within set guidelines and have enthusiasm to develop a career in this area.
