Children Panel Solicitor - Leicester

Our expert Childcare Team is committed to looking after clients who find themselves involved in all aspects of pre-proceedings work, care proceedings work and adoptions.

They help clients understand the legal process, the steps that need to be taken, the timescales involved and above all, are there to guide clients through the legal maze in a compassionate, professional and down-to-earth way.

To contribute to the continued expansion and development of our Leicester office we are looking for a children panel solicitor with the drive and determination to develop their own case load and career.

The Wilson Browne care team currently has 5 children panel solicitors at the Leicester and Northampton offices plus talented support staff. The Leicester office is conveniently based on Peacock Walk in the heart of the city, and the role is hybrid to work around court commitments.

What we’re looking for – ideally you will:

  • Have children panel accreditation
  • Have an established case load
  • Undertake your own advocacy.
  • Be a team player but be able to manage your case load independently
  • Have a proven billing history
  • Possess exceptional case management skills.
  • Have a good knowledge of Legal Aid Agency requirements and SRA regulatory requirements.

Residential Conveyancing Paralegal- Northampton

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Paralegal to join our busy Residential Conveyancing team, based at our Northampton office.

This is an exciting opportunity, and the successful applicant will ideally have some experience of working within a busy residential property team. You will also be IT literate and committed, with a previous working knowledge of using case management systems.

Responsibilities…

This is a full and busy role and will include the following:

  • Supporting the Team Leader.
  • Dealing with initial paperwork.
  • Issuing draft contracts.
  • The potential to manage your own caseload under supervision (depending on your experience).
  • Ordering and checking routine property searches.
  • Setting up matters for completion.
  • General administration.
  • Checking mortgage offers.
  • Dealing directly with clients, estate agents and lenders.
  • Supporting other members of the team whenever possible.
  • Post completion.

Requirements

You will have the ability to confidently manage your own workload, prioritise effectively, have excellent communication skills and be a team player. Some residential conveyancing experience is preferred and the ability to work within a busy team is essential. Excellent business development skills are desirable, as well as strong organisational skills.

Legal Secretary (Family Law)- Northampton

A full-time member of our secretarial and support team is required for the Northampton office.

Tell me more about the role….

The ideal candidate will be supporting the solicitors and paralegals in the busy family team. The ideal candidate should be IT literate with experience of dealing with case management systems although training will be given. You should be accurate, have the ability to work as part of a team and be able to remain calm under pressure.

Responsibilities…

The successful candidate will be supporting team members in dealing primarily with Wills and Powers of Attorney and assisting with obtaining Grants of Representation and Estate Administration.

Although previous experience in these areas of work would be desirable, other suitable candidates will be considered as full training will be given.
