The Situation

Mrs D’s father and second wife created a trust to allow the survivor of them to have lifetime interest in their shared property. The 4 trustees were Mrs D, her sister and her two stepsisters.

The Problem

Mrs D came to us after she received a complicated letter from a law firm on behalf of the stepsisters regarding the winding up of the Trust. The legal wording led Mrs D to believe they were seeking to vary the terms of the Trust.
