Private Client Solicitor (Wills, Trusts, LPA’s) - Corby

Our Private Client team is seeking to appoint an experienced Solicitor or Legal Executive, technically competent and capable of managing their own caseload independently without the need of supervision,  based at our Corby office and servicing our clients throughout the Northamptonshire counties.

You will ideally have 3+ years’ PQE, and have competent knowledge advising in the following areas:

  • Estates & Administration
  • Estate & inheritance planning
  • Wills
  • LPAs
  • Trusts

Be confident and willing to work with our Commercial teams based in Corby and build relationships with our commercial clients to help build a caseload in Corby.  This position requires a thirst for Business Development and ability to engage with new contacts and opportunities to expand our client base in Corby.

 

Private Client Solicitor/ Legal Executive (Wills, Trusts, LPA’s & Estate Admin) - Kettering

Wilson Browne Solicitors is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor/Legal Executive to join our well-established and highly regarded team in our Kettering office on either a full-time or part-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a thriving team and play a key supporting role within a busy and growing department.

You will manage a varied and high-quality private client caseload including:

  • Wills and estate planning
  • Probate and estate administration
  • Powers of Attorney
  • Inheritance Tax planning
  • Trust creation and administration

In addition to managing your own files, you will:

  • Support and supervise junior members of the team
  • Provide technical guidance to the wider team
  • Help maintain high standards of client care and compliance within the department

The role involves working closely with the Head of Team and contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with solid private client experience (ideally 5+ PQE, although flexibility will be considered)
  • Has strong technical knowledge of wills, probate, IHT and trusts
  • Is confident supporting and supervising junior colleagues

  • Enjoys building relationships with clients and professional referrers

STEP qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.

Children’s Panel Solicitor/ Legal Executive - Leicester

Our Childcare law team is one of the largest in the East Midlands and due to growth, we are seeking to appoint a Childcare Solicitor or Legal Executive. The role will be based at our Leicester office and working on behalf of children throughout England. Due to the nature of the role, Children’s Panel accreditation is essential. A current guardian following would be welcomed.

You will ideally have 5+ years’ PQE, and will be working on a wide range of childcare legal proceedings including:

  • Care proceedings
  • EPO’s
  • Special guardianship and adoption matters
  • Private law applications to include rule 16.4 instructions
  • Separate representation of competent children.

The ability to offer clear, practical advice while offering compassionate support are essential qualities required for this role. You will have strong advocacy experience and a passion for the work you do and the impact this has on society.

Childcare Paralegal - Leicester or Northampton

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Paralegal to join our busy Childcare team, based at our either our Northampton or Leicester offices. Our team of dedicated Childcare Solicitors comprises of 4 Solicitors (3 of which are proud to be on the esteemed Law Society Children’s Panel), a Trainee Solicitor and 3 Paralegals. You will be supporting these team members (and ultimately supporting our clients) with a wide range of Childcare legal proceedings including care proceedings, private law legal aid matters, SGO applications and adoption matters. You will have a real passion for Childcare and your work will have a big impact.

Responsibilities…

This is a full and busy role and will include the following:

  • Checking and drafting paperwork, including briefs
  • Preparing court bundles
  • Providing secretarial support
  • Billing and Legal Aid Agency liaison.
  • General administration
  • Supporting other members of the team
  • Attending PLO meetings within the local area.

Requirements

You will have the ability to confidently manage your own workload, prioritise effectively under pressure to tight deadlines, have excellent communication skills and be a team player. Some experience within Childcare/ Family Law and legal aid billing is preferred and the ability to work within a busy team is essential. Excellent customer care skills are essential, as well as strong organisational skills. Due to the nature of work undertaken, the successful candidate will be required to have a basic DBS check.

Court of Protection Solicitor- Northampton

We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented and experienced Court of Protection Solicitor to join our Legal 500 Court of Protection team based in our Northampton office. You will be managing your own caseload and working closely with the team for continued growth in this area.

We are considering individuals with a range of experience but are ideally looking for someone who has 5 years + PQE. You will need to be competent at working independently and handling your own caseload, but will also benefit from the guidance and support of the Court of Protection Team and wider Private Client team covering clients regionally (but mostly in the Northamptonshire and Leicestershire area). We are committed to the development of our staff with defined career plans in place and a fantastic team culture.

You will be responsible for managing your own case load, issue and act in proceedings, use your initiative to move matters forward, visit clients and protected parties, take client instructions, instruct third parties, delegate to and supervise lower grade fee earners.  Experience in this field is essential.

This is a role where your voice will be heard, with genuine scope for a challenging, but supported career. On top of that, you’ll have first-class support from our award-winning Marketing Team, to assist with business development opportunities.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing Court of Protection applications/forms;
  • Carrying out tasks on the day-to-day financial affairs of COP clients;
  • Visiting COP clients in their home or care setting;
  • Corresponding and dealing with family members and care staff;
  • Dealing with the client’s financial institutions;
  • Preparing COP annual accounts;
  • Taking and dealing with enquiries from clients & third parties
  • Making best interest decisions
  • Advising clients

You will possess good personal organisation, common sense and strong interpersonal skills, empathy and patience, with the ability to provide the highest standards of client care. You will be caring, patient and understanding and possess an enthusiasm for work within the Court of Protection area of the law, working with vulnerable and elderly people and their families mainly across the Northamptonshire and Leicestershire areas.
