Reasons to choose Wilson Browne
Designs can be registered at the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) and once registered, are a monopoly right.
Remember, monopoly rights are exclusive to the owner. Like with patents and trade marks, this means that registered designs can be infringed by coincidence or without knowledge, so long as the ‘infringer’ does not have permission from the owner of the monopoly right.
Importantly, registration protects the design of a product and not the actual product itself (which could be covered under different IP rights).
