Michael is a highly experienced employment law specialist, having qualified as a solicitor in 2010. As Head of the Employment Team at Wilson Browne, he advises both employers and employees on the full spectrum of workplace issues, combining technical expertise with clear, commercially focused guidance.
Michael acts for employers of all sizes — from owner‑managed businesses and SMEs through to larger organisations operating across a broad range of industries and sectors. His work includes day to day HR support alongside strategic advice on complex employee relations matters, senior exits, discrimination and whistleblowing issues, restructuring and redundancy programmes and TUPE.
Alongside his advisory practice, Michael is an experienced advocate and regularly represents clients (both Claimant and Respondent) in the Employment Tribunal. He acts in claims including unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing, breach of contract and wage claims.
Michael prides himself on a pragmatic approach to litigation strategy, helping client resolve employment law disputes quickly and efficiently by engaging in settlement negotiations outside of the court process. This includes drafting and advising on settlement agreements as well as guiding clients through the ACAS early conciliation process.
He also supports corporate transactions, providing employment law advice on mergers, acquisitions and business transfers, including due diligence, risk management and post‑completion integration.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with his young family, travelling, and pursuing a range of outdoor activities.
