Flexible working to become a Day One right

Reasons to choose Wilson Browne

In July, we reported on the changes to the right to request flexible working – Employment Relations (Flexible Working) Act 2023 – Passed 14th July & Awaiting Royal Assent. : Wilson Browne.

At that time, whilst it was anticipated this would become a day 1 right, employees still needed to have 26 weeks’ service in order to be able to make a request for flexible working.

However, new regulations have now been laid before Parliament which means that this will be a day 1 right for any making a request on or after 6 April 2024.
