Assistant Accountant - Based at Northampton

We are currently looking for a full time Assistant Accountant based at our Northampton office.

Reporting to the Finance Director the role will include but will not be limited to:

• Assistance with preparation of information required for annual Budget packs and year end statutory accounts, including preparation of Dormant accounts,
• Working with the Assistant to the Finance Director and Finance Director with any ad hoc duties and projects, including VAT support, accounts software update and a review of the Credit Control system.
• Analysing and investigating trends and anomalies on accounts, client ledgers, and within the accounting system.
• On occasions supporting the Finance Director and Assistant to the Finance Director in completing:
– Monthly and year end Payroll processes including completion of P11d’s
– Assisting with month end management accounts tasks and preparation of elements of the finance pack
– Assisting with financial accounting duties including management of the fixed asset register, posting of journals, accruals and prepayments.
– Overall management of the purchase ledger function including monitoring the aged payables report.
• Supporting the Legal Cashiers within the accounts team during busy periods, and as and when required,
• Adhere to Solicitors Accounts Rules and all relevant regulations.

The successful candidate will be a part qualified Accountant (ILFM, AAT, ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or have over 5 years of relevant working experience. You must have extensive Payroll knowledge with an accomplished background in the completion of management accounts. It is essential you will also be able to demonstrate strong Excel abilities.

You will be detail orientated, with an analytical eye and mind-set so that you can investigate issues and anomalies effectively. You must value keeping information confidential, be self-motivated, have a ‘can do’ proactive attitude, and be a team player. You must have a proven track record of working to a high standard with minimal supervision with the ability to work to deadlines, prioritise workload and deliver accurate information first time.

An excellent communicator, you will ideally have previously worked in the legal sector and had experience of using SOS and/or LucaNet software.

Commercial Litigation Paralegal - Based at Kettering

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic paralegal to join our busy Commercial Litigation Team at our Kettering office.

The position would primarily provide support to the team in relation to Housing and Debt Recovery litigation.  There would also be scope to assist the team with larger claims including breach of contract claims, shareholder/directors disputes, professional negligence claims, and property/land disputes.

We are looking for a person with experience of the Civil Procedure Rules and ideally with some experience of Housing and/or Debt Recovery litigation, but more importantly an eagerness to learn and develop new areas of specialism. Essential skills are an attention to detail and an ability to perform under pressure in a supported environment.

The role would suit a paralegal with up to 2 years’ relevant experience looking for a new challenge. The role, for the right candidate, presents a great opportunity to broaden their experience and develop their career.

Part Time Operations Assistant - Based Northampton

We are looking for an enthusiastic administrative professional who is organised, IT literate, with a ‘can do’ attitude and keen to join our friendly Operations team. Previous administrative experience gained in an office environment is essential as this is a varied and challenging role that will give you great insight into the way a highly regulated profession is run.

The main responsibilities of the role will be to support the Operations Manager in updating and maintaining various Compliance documents including the firm’s Registers, Policies, and Practice Manual. You will also be required to maintain/update the staff information database relating to Compliance/training.

A good command of the written word is imperative as are attention to detail, good punctuation, grammar and basic proof reading skills.

The ideal candidate will be conscientious, organised and a team player with an excellent eye for detail. Whilst acting as assistant to the Operations Manager you will need to use your initiative and make decisions for yourself.
