Mental Health And Wellness A Key Talking Point For Firm Of Solicitors
Reasons to choose Wilson Browne
Healthy people are happier, more engaged and more productive and with that in mind Wilson Browne are passionate about supporting the wellbeing of their staff.
Practice Manager John Whitehouse completed a training course earlier in the year which awarded him a Mental Health First Aider qualification with Mental Health First Aid England.
Mental Health First Aid England (MHFA) training courses teach people to spot the symptoms of mental health issues, offer initial help and guide a person towards support. Their aim is to normalise society’s attitudes and behaviours around mental health, by developing the skills we need to look after our own and others’ wellbeing.
91% of firms that have already participated in the training course reported an increased understanding of mental health issues in the workplace. Mental Health First Aiders are not there to “fix” problems but to be an initial port of call if there is an issue employees are worried about.
John Whitehouse commented “As a firm we recognise the importance of our mental health as well as our physical health and it was clear from the course that Wilson Browne Solicitors is already engaged in many of the good practices recommended.”
Going forward the firm hopes to increase “wellness” within the firm and is currently welcoming feedback from employees on ideas or contributions to achieve this.
