Reasons to choose Wilson Browne

Think of a legal practice and the first thing that comes to mind is ‘lawyers’ or ‘Solicitors’…but there’s a multitude of other opportunities within any large legal practice.

The lawyers are at the very heart of any law firm, but you may be surprised to know that there’s a vast range of roles that make that heart beat.

We can’t respond to every approach but if your email is in relation to an advertised (or speculative) role, it will be forwarded to the relevant team for consideration: we’ll be in touch if we’d like to move things forward but if you don’t hear from us within 14 days then sorry…but it looks like we’re not a match made in heaven (or we haven’t got what you’re looking for).

Full Time. Permanent

Tell me more about Wilson Browne Solicitors…

At Wilson Browne Solicitors, we’re proud of our reputation for delivering outstanding legal services and exceptional client care. To support this, we are looking for a talented and commercially minded Digital Marketing Assistant to help drive our digital presence, strengthen client engagement and generate new business opportunities. You’ll be joining an award-winning, friendly, collaborative and forward-thinking team where your ideas and contributions will make a real impact in helping us to continue to grow our brand and reputation, as well as your career.

Tell me more about the team and role…

This is not a role for someone who simply schedules social media posts. We’re looking for an individual who understands how digital marketing contributes to business growth and who can help us generate more enquiries, improve engagement, enhance our online presence and support the continual development of our digital channels.

Working closely with the Marketing Manager, Business Development & Marketing Director, and external specialist agencies, you will play a key role in delivering and measuring digital marketing activity across SEO, PPC, social media, email marketing and our website. If you’re curious, analytical, creative and motivated by seeing measurable results from your work, we’d love to hear from you, particularly if you can demonstrate how you have used data and insight to improve marketing performance, engagement or lead generation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and updating website content through WordPress, ensuring information is accurate, engaging and optimised.
  • Supporting SEO and PPC campaigns in collaboration with our external agencies.
  • Managing and developing our social media presence across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and other relevant platforms to be agreed.
  • Creating and scheduling compelling digital content, including articles, newsletters, email campaigns and social media posts.
  • Monitoring website, social media and campaign performance using analytics platforms and reporting tools.
  • Producing insightful reports and recommending improvements to increase engagement, conversions and lead generation.
  • Supporting the effective use of our CRM and email marketing systems to improve communications and client engagement.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance the digital customer journey and improve online conversion rates.
  • Supporting the wider Marketing team with the planning, co-ordination and delivery of firm events, BD & networking activities, careers fairs and sponsorship initiatives, including attending and facilitating these at various locations.

Essential Requirements

You will have a minimum of two years’ experience in a digital marketing role, with hands-on responsibility for managing and growing business social media channels. You will possess working knowledge of Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Search Console, Meta Business Suite and WordPress, together with excellent content creation, copywriting and communication skills. As a highly organised and proactive individual, you’ll be able to manage multiple priorities effectively while demonstrating strong commercial awareness and a genuine interest in delivering measurable marketing results.

A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is required. Equally the role requires some flexibility with occasional events outside of normal working hours.

Desirable Requirements

Experience within professional services or B2B marketing would be advantageous, as would familiarity with Microsoft Clarity (or similar tools). Basic video creation and editing skills are also desirable, although training and development opportunities will be available to support the successful candidate in building their knowledge and expertise.

Recruitment Process

We want to understand how you think, analyse and approach digital marketing challenges, so shortlisted candidates will be invited to deliver a short presentation covering:

  • Website performance and conversions
  • Social media strategy
  • Digital analytics
  • Priorities for the first 90 days

About Us

With a strong regional base, 6 offices, great clients, a heritage that goes back over 100 years and a reputation that others envy. Our clients refer to us as:

“a well established firm; a name you can trust; a firm with a great reputation that covers most areas of law.”

At Wilson Browne Solicitors, we have a range of varied and exciting jobs that all contribute to the effective running and profitability of the firm. Just like any other business, there are various skills (and indeed other professional roles) that all go towards making the firm a success.

Wilson Browne Solicitors has a strong reputation based on delivering great advice to businesses and private clients, dating back nearly 200 years. We are proud to have been named Northamptonshire Law Society’s Large Law Firm Of The Year for 2015/2016 and 2017/2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2025 – pretty impressive !

Many of our lawyers are recognised in the Legal 500 (a who’s who of the legal profession) and we pride ourselves in delivering cost-effective and practical advice to our clients.

What Types Of Roles Exist For “Non-Lawyers”?

Secretarial

A vital part of helping the lawyers focus on what they do best, is secretarial support: dealing with correspondence, preparing letters, helping with diary management, organising meeting rooms and having contact with clients to help keep them in the picture when the busy ‘fee earners’ may be otherwise engaged.

Secretaries generally work for dedicated teams so you’ll need to be able to build knowledge of a particular area of law as well as gaining a good understanding of other areas of law we deal with so you can see the bigger picture.

Front Of House – Reception

Perhaps a term more widely used in the hospitality industry but we like to think of our clients as our guests whether visiting in person or enquiring over the ‘phone.

We expect high standards whether it’s meeting and greeting visitors in person or dealing with those many telephone enquiries: making sure they are warmly greeted , that we make them comfortable and deal with any questions or enquiries that have as efficiently as possible.

A Dedicated ICT Team

Every modern business runs on technology whether it be mobile communications, networks, software, intranets, hardware, I.T security or bespoke programs and we have our own in-house team making sure there are no glitches.

Marketing, Advertising And Business Development

There’s no point having a great product or service if no one knows about it! From traditional adverts in print, through to internet advertising, radio, website, social media, branding, PR and more, there’s an award-winning team behind it making sure it’s as good as it can be.

Practice management

Our Operations Team are responsible for developing our quality and LEXCEL systems and for ensuring compliance with them, as well as overseeing other important aspects such as Data Protection. The team provides key support to our lawyers to ensure that they can always deliver services to our clients in the way our clients want to receive them. Part of the role of the team includes developing a full understanding of what clients like and dislike about lawyers so they can work with our teams to ensure that our client service is always the best it can be.

The team also takes care of important day-to-day functions such as ‘facilities management’, ensuring that our offices run smoothly.

HR

With over 130 Partners and employees, there’s a large Human Resources element! Whether it’s People Management, Recruitment, HR Policies, Compliance, Health & Safety, and Benefits. This might typically include Enforcing firm HR policies consistently across all staff; Training all staff on relevant HR policies; Maintaining employee compensation and benefit programs; Upholding compliance with current employment legislation…or anything else you’d expect of a large employer.

Finance

With so many employees and even more clients, the finance function is another essential part of the business. There’s people to pay, suppliers who need invoices settling and clients who need to pay for a broad range of services.

And more…

…from Office Assistants who help with general tasks that contribute to the efficient running of the offices, to someone who makes sure that the buildings are well maintained. There’s a multitude of opportunities and the opportunity to develop your career. For example, we have Legal executives who started as secretaries and Office assistants who are now studying CILEx as their first step towards a legal career.

Even if you don’t currently see an opportunity that interests you we’re always delighted to hear from enthusiastic, talented people looking for their next move, whether legal professionals or those looking for non legal opportunities.
