It’s all about Education

Reasons to choose Wilson Browne

It’s so important to have a workforce qualified and interested in the roles available in businesses in Northamptonshire. Engagement between businesses and the education sector, at all levels, is crucial in training tomorrow’s employees.

Schools are becoming more aware of this and so are looking to the business community to support them.

At Wilson Browne Solicitors, we are actively involved in the education sector across the county.

We have partners and employees who are school governors, academy trust trustees, enterprise advisers and more. Beyond that, we also go into schools and colleges to meet with students and talk to them about careers in the legal profession, whether on a one to one basis, Q & A with groups or career events. Or they can visit us at our offices and see what a working office is really like!.

Beyond the legal profession itself, we also volunteer to assist with mock interviews, so helping students to gain valuable experience in interview techniques and helping them gain confidence in talking about themselves and their ambitions. We’re lucky that so many of our staff at all levels are engaged with this initiative.

Recently a group from Wilson Browne, ranging from partner level, and financial analysts, to trainees, assisted over two days at Brooke Weston Academy in Corby with mock interviews for sixth formers.

Our team were really impressed with the students and really enjoyed the experience. We had great feedback from the school – “Thank you so much for your support with our mock interview event. The students have been speaking very highly of the experience and found your questions and feedback really helpful. The time you have taken out of your schedules to support this is sure to have a significant impact on their interview skills and preparation.”

We don’t stop at interaction with schools. We are proud to be able to offer and support training to many of our staff, whether it’s trainee solicitors, legal executives, licenced conveyancers, or our support staff, and of course, we have ongoing training requirements throughout our careers.

A business is only as good as its team, so don’t underestimate the value of taking time out of the “day job” to train and support staff.
