Earlier this year, historic WWI documents were unearthed at our Higham Ferrers office.
T G Tailby, who lived in Stanwick and attended Stanwick School, served in the Canadian Infantry in WWI but unfortunately died just before the end of the War. His name is on the WWI memorial in Stanwick.
His family emigrated to Canada shortly after and therefore Partner Nina Wilson thought it befitting to entrust the documents in the safe hands of Stanwick School.
The mementoes, which will be 100 years old on the 26th September this year, included the death certificate, the memorial plaque and scroll, as well as a letter from the King himself, George V.
The school were delighted with their new treasures and the connection to Stanwick, and have a project scheduled for the 100 anniversary in September.
