At Wilson Browne Solicitors we have three of the most experienced childcare lawyers in the East Midlands and particularly Kettering & Corby.
Our Childcare team have many years’ experience of acting in childcare and adoption proceedings for children, their parents and *grandparents.
Childcare proceedings can be very stressful and distressing. Our team understand that, and will help you to understand the legal process, the steps being taken and the timescales involved. We will approach each case with a level of understanding only achieved through years of experience in Childcare (Child Care) law.
Where adoption is concerned, it is important to understand that this is not a single area. We deal with adoption proceedings in relation to Social Services which is not the same as a private adoption. Our specialist team only provides advice on helping to prevent your child from being placed into foster care or from being adopted.
(Our Family Law Team deals with all things relating to relationships, whether it concerns children, finances, assets or the actual process of separation and divorce, whereas the Childcare Team specialises in issues relating to Social Services interventions).
It is important to be represented by those who understand how the law may affect you and your family whenever there is involvement by social services. That’s why our team are members of the Children Panel, which means that we can represent children, parents or *grandparents within proceedings which either the local authority or social services instigate when they are concerned about child protection issues.
We can help you with:
- Child Protection issues
- Pre-Proceeding Meetings / The Public Law Outline
- Care Proceedings
- Special Guardianship
- Supervision Orders
The Law Society Children Panel is a specialist panel which recognises expertise in the area of childcare law: members must apply and then be reaccredited every five years so that the Law Society can monitor the quality and expertise of the legal advice offered.
Where care proceedings (Care and Placement Orders) are considered, we can guide you through the legal maze. We regularly advise and represent parents, family members, children and Children’s Guardians in all Public Law proceedings. We can also advise and assist where children are voluntarily accommodated (perhaps where parents have voluntarily offered to place their children into temporary foster care) and will attend Pre-Proceeding Meetings.
Our specialists are here to give you support every step of the way and to guide you through the legal process. If necessary, we’re able to take on your matter at very short notice, and attend Public Law Outline (PLO) meetings and the Court, if Care Proceedings are issued Legal Aid is available in Childcare / Child Care proceedings and can be granted straight away**. Needless to say, we can meet you at any of our offices (in addition to Corby):
