Nursing errors can be wide ranging as follows:-
• failure to ensure a patient is properly monitored – which can lead to deterioration in a patient’s condition
• incorrect administration of drugs – which can lead to extravasation injuries
• failure to ensure that a patient is moved on a regular basis – which can lead to pressure sores
• failure to ensure that a patient is adequately supervised on mobilising – which can lead to falls
The effects of these types of injuries can be devastating and often affect the most vulnerable patients those with chronic conditions and the elderly.
