CQC Publishes Report On Kettering General Hospital
Reasons to choose Wilson Browne
Louise Tyler, Head of Clinical Negligence, comments on the CQC report published today in respect of children’s services at Kettering General Hospital.
The report confirms that there has been a disregard for children’s safety, and some of the detail the report goes into in respect of parents not feeling listened to and concerned about the basic level of care their child has received is very much in keeping with what I have heard over the years.
It would appear there needs to be a change in culture from the top down, and there are a significant number of actions that the Trust must take to improve, which include effective systems for diagnosing and treating sepsis, adequate staff training, improvement in patient record keeping and checking of medication and equipment.
Parents who have taken part in this review and provided their experiences should be applauded, as it is only by them coming forward that patient safety concerns such as this are uncovered.
