Gender pay gap reporting

The Government has now published a draft of The Equality Act (Gender Pay Gap Information) Regulations 2016, which are expected to come into force in October 2016.

In summary, the draft Regulations provide that:
1) Large employers, with over 250 employees, will be required to publish their mean and median pay gaps. They will also be required to publish the number of men and women that appear in each quartile of pay in their workforce;
2) The information will have to be published on the employer’s website every year, alongside a statement confirming that the information is accurate;
3) Employers will have to collate this information from April 2017, but are not required to begin publishing the information until April 2018.
