£200m Pilot Right To Buy Scheme Opens For Midlands

The Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG) has announced the launch of a £200m ‘Midlands voluntary right to buy’ pilot, which is set to act as the first step to help housing association tenants own their own home. Places in the pilot will be allocated via a ballot to ensure fairness.
MHCLG said money from the discounted house sales would be used to fund replacement homes.
The ballot will close a month from today’s launch (16 September 2018), with the pilot running until spring 2020 giving successful candidates adequate time to complete the purchase.
