James qualified in 1973 and went on to work in major commercial solicitors practices in London before changing direction and running his own Legal Aid practice. He then joined Wilson Browne and became a Partner in 1980. James is responsible for litigation at our Kettering office. He is Head of the firm’s Medical Negligence and Personal Injury Unit and also has many years experience in Employment Law acting both for Employers and Employees. He has over 18 years experience in dealing with clinical negligence and personal injury cases and is an experienced advocate and has successfully taken to Trial complex and contested clinical and serious injury cases. James is a member of a number of specialist professional associations and specialist panels including the AvMA national panel of Clinical Negligence solicitors, having been a member of AvMA since 1988, the Legal Services Commission Funding Review (Appeals) Committee for clinical cases and the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). James has also attained Senior Litigator status as recognised by APIL. He is Chair of the Kettering Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) and a member and trustee of other local charities. His outdoor pursuits include hiking, cycling and bird watching and he is reasonably fluent in French, less so in Spanish and Greek.
