Following the horrific and awful events at Grenfell Tower, the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) have concluded that there are additional tests that can be undertaken with regards to the cladding.
DCLG advise that aluminium composite material cladding is not of itself dangerous, but it is important that the right type is used. DCLG have arranged for a testing facility to be made available to blocks that are privately owned. This offer for testing will be paid by the DCLG, but the cost of any remedial action will be the responsibility of the owner of the building.
It is of course also important that owners/landlords have robust fire assessments for their properties. Click here to read further information about the identification of the material cladding and the testing of it.
